Lammas - Aug 1st (Cross-Quarter)15.00 degrees Leo Lammas; also known as Lughnassad-(Loo-na-ssa), is a time for mastering skills, learning new things, joining together, handfastings, and beginning to harvest your goals. This is the first harvest festival, the second being Sept 21st Mabon-(Autumnal Equinox); this time of year is to celabrate the end of summer and of course the great harvest. We must realize that our ansesters harvested their crops this time of year. These crops were to last the community for the long winter ahead, this was and is a great custom for thanking the gods for their stong influence over our survival. A great time to give thanks for the bountiful harvest bestowed upon us from our Earth Mother. The Sun God Lugh is honored, as well as The grain Goddesses Demeter and Ceres, for taking special care of their lands in the past summer in preperation for winter and the new seeds to be sown in spring. Lammas is coming fast and we must
