Lammas - Aug 1st (Cross-Quarter)

15.00 degrees Leo
Date: Aug 1st

Lammas; also known as Lughnassad-(Loo-na-ssa), is a time for mastering skills, learning new things, joining together, handfastings, and beginning to harvest your goals. This is the first harvest festival, the second being Sept 21st Mabon-(Autumnal Equinox); this time of year is to celabrate the end of summer and of course the great harvest. We must realize that our ansesters harvested their crops this time of year. These crops were to last the community for the long winter ahead, this was and is a great custom for thanking the gods for their stong influence over our survival. A great time to give thanks for the bountiful harvest bestowed upon us from our Earth Mother. The Sun God Lugh is honored, as well as The grain Goddesses Demeter and Ceres, for taking special care of their lands in the past summer in preperation for winter and the new seeds to be sown in spring.

Lammas is coming fast and we must get ready! But first we should take a look at the history of this magickal day, to properly prepare for our ritual's. For a good history of Lammas(Click Here).

We Found A Nice Calendar Check It Out Here (Click Here). Please Note: Until we can get our Book Of Shadows online; We will provide links to the best information resources we know. we will keep taking pictures and notes of our rituals, until then thank you so much for your patience.

Our Goal!

We are not here trying to be better then anyone
else, but to connect you to everyone else, what
they know, and what they can teach anyone of us.
Isn't this why we are pagan to begin with? To
be open minded and to admit that no matter how much
knowledge we have already attained, or how old we
are- that we do not know everything there is to know
in this life! If that was the case then why are you
reading this right now? I think the gods would have
work on a higher plane for you to do... So in saying
that, our goal is to network open-minded pagan's of
Horry County, and beyond. Creating a line of communication for rituals, discussion groups, supplies, and information.
